Asteroid Search Campaign

As a citizen scientist, I am proud to be part of NASA's Asteroid Search Campaign. My involvement allows me to actively contribute to the identification and tracking of asteroids, analyzing data collected from super high-end telescopes for scientific studies. This project not only sharpens my data analysis skills but also fuels my passion for space exploration. Thanks to my background as an amateur astrophotographer, my familiarity with handling celestial data, making the process of identifying asteroids more interesting for me.

Astrophotography has taught me to develop patience and attention to detail required when examining images of distant celestial objects. In the campaign, I apply similar techniques to detect and differentiate moving objects such as asteroids from among the numerous stars on the background. NASA’s campaign is an extraordinary platform for enthusiasts like me to make a real impact in planetary defense and space research.

The feeling of potentially discovering something new or contributing to the scientific community, is incredibly rewarding. Each asteroid I track brings me closer to understanding the dynamics of our solar system. This experience has deepened my appreciation for the complexities of space and how much there is still to uncover. Being part of this campaign inspires me to continue my journey into the realms of astrophysics and space research.
